Lush Cosmetics will open its first spa in North America in New York City early 2014, followed by a second location in Philadelphia, PA. Lush spas already exist in Japan, France, Korea, and the U.K.

The spas will be in traditional English style, and look like “home” – with jars of fresh flowers, mismatched vintage tea cups and shelves filled with old-fashioned books.

Seven unique “handmade fresh” treatments will be offered, with quirky names like its signature “Synaesthesia,” which the brand says is different from a traditional massage. Guests “choose how they want to feel, and their therapist takes them there,” with a full body customized massage done designed to work synergistally with a specific soundtrack that’s played.

The spa extensions will be added to its existing retail locations, and have been in development since 2008. The NYC location is at 783 Lexington Avenue; and in Philly at 1525 Walnut Street.
